Utilities Saving and Value Energy (U-Save)

Utilities Saving and Value Energy (U-Save) is an education and capacity building program that will provide simple information and resources to support new arrivals from refugee backgrounds to understand:

  • saving money on energy
  • energy bills
  • concessions and rebates
  • energy efficient appliances and how to access these through low or No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS)
  • the electricity market
  • flexible pricing
  • smart meters

U-Save will translate materials into a number of community languages, run 48 local seminars - presenting to around 1,000 people and deliver 250 in-home visits.  The project will also provide free energy saving items to particpants.

Seminars and home visits will be available through U-Save up until June 2016.
